I'd definitely recommend Shirlaws Ltd to friends and family because they are a good team to deal with and also a large stock available at all times.
Keith at Shirlaws was really helpful and I'd recommend them because he made the whole transaction very smooth.
I bought from them in many occasions and have always had first class service .
I would not recommend Shirlaws Ltd because when doing a trade in I stated what I would expect as fair value and that essentially dictated what I was willing to spend. Originally the offer I was given was around £500 less, after a fair bit of back and forth we landed where I originally asked. This put me off a bit as it was clearly not out of the question what I originally asked.
I had raised a concern about possible loose bolts, I was told this would be checked.. it was not as when I got home I checked and 2 out of 4 were in fact loose. Loose bolts was also an issue on the last bike I bought from shirlaws.
The bike looked clean, when you looked a little closer, it really looked like it had just been polished up where you would see.
All in all a bit of an off-putting experience buying from them. Would probably not go with them in the future mostly due to the loose bolts on the headlight cluster, which checking and tightening is a 5 mins job. Which makes me assume the rear shock was never brought back to factory pre-load too.
Shame since it's a really nice bike.
Shirlaws Ltd were helpful because I was given a choice of bikes to test drive and got a good trade in deal. All in All the new Shirlaws are much better to deal with all round
